artwork guidelines
Producing your own artwork can be a daunting task if you're not familiar with the industry standard sizes and specifications. Luckily, Spark are here to help!
Here you will find easy to follow guidelines for setting up you design documents. You can also download our ready made templates, all created to the correct specification for printing.
Bleed Settings
Please allow 3mm of bleed to each edge of your design. We also recommend you keep any text and important information 5mm away from the edge of your design. This is your safe area.
Resolution
If your artwork looks blurry, you might have saved it as a low resolution.
When saving or exporting your artwork, we recommend no less than 300dpi resolution - or as high quality as you can get it if this isn't an option.
We also recommend using high quality images for your design, this will ensure a high quality print.
Colour Profile
For best colour reproduction you should save your file in CMYK format.
Please note: RGB and Pantone colours will be automatically converted to CMYK which may slightly affect the colour of your print.
Saving Your File
Please do not include printer or crop marks - we don't need them.
We accept files saved as PDF, Ai, EPS, JPEG and TIFF. Please ensure fonts are embedded
We prefer you to send your artwork as a PDF. You can convert your artwork to PDF using this free and easy tool: www.smallpdf.com
